When Should I have my boiler serviced?

It is recommended for oil boilers to be serviced on an annual basis. Boilers that are serviced regularly run more effectively and thus use less oil. An inefficient boiler would cost you more to operate at today's high prices.

What is involved in a service?

  • Check and clean the burner and components.

  • Inspect the internal oil lines.

  • Check the flue-ways.

  • Fit a new nozzle.

  • Clean and check heat exchanger and baffles.

  • Clean & if needed adjust the ignition components.

  • Check all boiler seals & joints.

  • Check the fire valve.

  • Check there are no obvious signs of damage to the wiring.

  • Re-set the burner operating pressure to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

  • Carry out combustion analysis and set up boiler for safe and efficient running.

  • Check boiler safety devices.

  • Check oil tank and supply pipes.

  • Clean oil filters and renew if necessary.
